franklin is a new musical collective on the norwegian jazz- and hip hop-scene. Their music is based in an acoustic soundscape, containing a mix of hip grooves and rhythms, catchy harmonic ideas and melodic improvisation – topped with expressive and intricate lyrics from a strong female narrator. As students from the jazz academy in Trondheim, their take on the genre is from a different and playful view, but through their musical references they also hold a strong connection to the tradition.
